Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics is proud to offer American Red Cross certified classes to our members and the public. We offer a variety of different classes to ensure that every member can receive the training they need.
Lifeguard Certification Class
Learn the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Throughout this course trainees will learn to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries.
These classes will offer a variety of situations from classroom learnings to applying what they learned in the water with real-life situations. Lifeguards will receive state of the art lifeguard training to ensure the safety of swimmers.

REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Swim 300 yards without resting or stopping
• Swim 20 yard 10 lb brick swim and carry it back on your back
• Tread water for two minutes without using arms
• Attendance is required at all three days per session

FIRST AID AND CPR CLASSES

This class the citizen responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury and sudden illness until advanced medical help arrives.

WORKPLACE CPR
HFFA is dedicated to ensuring that the community has all the proper tools to be prepared for any situation. Bring out your whole staff to HFFA to learn knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize & provide basic care of injuries and sudden illness until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. We want to ensure that no one from your office suffers any preventable illness or injury.

CPR/AED
This class is designed with a duty to respond to emergencies. This program combines discussions, videos and hands-on training through real-life rescue scenarios that reinforce decision-making skills. We want to make sure you feel comfortable in this situation so our course covers how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.

BABYSITTER TRAINING
Want to be a babysitter? Make sure you are properly trained for any situation that can occur while watching anyone’s child. The class entails discussions, videos, and hands-on training through real-life scenarios that reinforce decision-making skills.

BLOOD BORN PATHOGENS
We train and provide participants with an understanding of how to prevent exposure incidents by following work practice controls, using engineering controls and personal protective equipment and supplies. We also train our trainees to recognize, report and follow up on employee exposures to infectious materials.

ADMINISTERING EMERGENCY OXYGEN
Participants will receive the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to a victim of a breathing emergency using breathing devices, including resuscitation masks, bag-valve-mask resuscitators (BVMs) and emergency oxygen.
