HFFA'S FIRECRACKER 5K & KIDS FUN RUN RETURN TO HUNTERSVILLE JULY 4

Registration Now Open for Both Events

HUNTERSVILLE, NC – Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics (HFFA) will host the sixth annual Firecracker 5K and Kids Fun Run on July 4, 2009, at the HFFA facility in Huntersville. More than 300 adults and children, including avid runners who will travel to Huntersville from outlying areas and outside the state, are expected to turn out for the popular event. This year’s event is presented by Keffer VW and benefits the Lakeside Scholarship Fund.

The Firecracker 5K timed road race is open to participants of all ages and begins at 8:00 a.m. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners and winners in every age group. The approximately quarter-mile Firecracker Kids Fun Run, open to children of any age, begins at 9:00 a.m. and presents each participating child with a medal.

Registration for both the Firecracker 5K and Kids Fun Run is open now on the following websites: www.hffa.com, www.runforyourlife.com, and www.sportoften.com. In-person registration is available at Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics and at Run for Your Life stores. The cost to register for either event before July 3 is $20 per runner. Same-day, on-site registration is available from 6:30 – 7:30 a.m. on July 4 for a fee of $30 per runner.
