TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR INTERNATIONAL SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

HUNTERSVILLE – Tickets are on sale now for the 2009 UANA Pan American Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships coming to Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics (HFFA) August 12-15. The internationally-sanctioned event features junior Olympic hopefuls from North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean in team, duet, solo, and freestyle synchronized swimming competition.

“This is the first time official synchronized swimming competition has been brought to the Charlotte area,” said Molly Burroughs, HFFA Executive Director. “This isn’t the stuff of Esther Williams movies; this is athletic, intense, and highly visual competition that is incredibly fun to watch. We encourage anyone interested in having a fun day with the family to come out and watch the exciting spectacle this event will provide.”

The family-friendly event features synchronized swimming practice sessions, preliminaries, and finals in HFFA’s 50-meter pool. The event schedule also includes spectacular opening ceremonies on Wednesday, August 12; a colorful Parade of Athletes on Friday, August 14; and a family festival on Saturday, August 15, that celebrates the many cultures represented in the competition. Raised spectator seating is available poolside with views of both the pool and the awards podium. Weeklong passes for the entire event are available at $12. Daily tickets, good for any one day of competition, are $8 for adults and $6 for children age 12 and under.
