SCHEDULE CHANGE AT UANA PAN AMERICAN JUNIOR SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS IN HUNTERSVILLE

Huntersville, N.C. – The UANA Pan American Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships got underway today at the Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics (HFFA). Due to some technical difficulties, the schedule for Thursday, August 13 has been altered. The duet preliminary competition has been moved to 3:00 p.m., while the team preliminary competition has been cancelled. The schedule for Friday and Saturday has not changed. The team final competition will take place Friday night as planned, using the draw from the team prelim competition.

The meet is open to National Teams from the Americas and the Caribbean. The following 13 nations are competing: Argentina, Aruba, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, United States, and Venezuela.

Friday, August 14

9:30 am – 12:30 pm Figures Competition

6:45 pm – 10:00 pm Parade of Athletes

Solo & Team Final Competition and Awards

Saturday, August 15

9:00 am – 1:00 pm Sync or Swim Family Festival in the Park

1:00 pm – 2:30 pm Duet Final Competition

3:00 pm Free Combination Final Competition

Duet & Free Combination Awards Ceremony

TICKETS: Raised spectator seating is available poolside with views of both the pool and the awards podium. Weeklong passes for the entire event, August 13-15, are available at $12. Daily tickets, good for any one day of competition August 13, 14, or 15, are $8 for adults and $6 for children age 12 and under. All tickets may be ordered online at www.hffa.com/syncorswim or purchased in person on the day of the event at Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics.

2009 UNITED STATES JUNIOR NATIONAL SYNCHRONIZED SIMMING TEAM:
Team USA was named in May in Federal Way, Washington and has split training time between San Antonio, Texas and the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. The United States is coached by Kim Wurzel-Lo Porto, a member of the 2000 U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team and Nathalie Bartleson, a member of the 1996 U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team.

The 2009 U.S. Junior Team consists of:
