The Kids Triathlon Series was created to encourage youth to have fun staying active. By focusing on swim, bike & run, our hope is that participants will build lifelong healthy habits of setting goals for physical achievement.
This event is open to children ages 4 - 14, all levels of ability.
Distances are appropriate for all children to
achieve successful completion of the race. |

Course Information |

| |
SWIM: Each participant has one lane and swims their distance in that lane only. If the heat consists of more than 18 kids then swimmers may share a lane. Shoes & shirt and/or number should be left on the water park side of the pool, where all swimmers exit the pool. Any child may use a kickboard to assist them in the swim.
NEW BIKE: NEW for 2012 - only ages 4 - 6 will transition and bike on the walking path at Huntersville Athletic Park. Ages 7 - 14 will bike on Verhoeff Road which will be closed during the race. Ages 11 - 14 will exit HFFA parking lot, looping at CPCC to head back to HFFA, enter the carpool lane at HFFA to loop back and repeat. Updated course maps are available online and the course will be clearly marked.
RUN: The run course is completed on the inner
field of the bike course at Huntersville Athletic
Park.

Thanks to our friends with Huntersville-Concord Triathlon Club, one lucky child between ages 7 - 10 has the opportunity to be sponsored for the Birkdale Animal Hospital Triathlon Series. Equipment, lessons, entry fee's, uniform and a 6 month complimentary HFFA membership to help you train are all included. Family Tri Weekend |

The family that tri’s together stays healthy together! That’s why HFFA has created a Family Tri Weekend for every member of the family. Join us April 28 & 29 for a triathlon for everyone in the family.
On Saturday, April 28 we kick off the Kids Triathlon Series with Race 1 for ages 4 - 14 and a great photo opportunity for parents to cheer on their young triathletes.
Then return on Sunday, April 29 for the Huntersville Sprint open to ages 14+. Complimentary child watch will be available on Sunday for all participants so every member of the family can enjoy the race. Special ‘Family Tri’ prizes will be issued on Sunday following the Huntersville
Sprint for teams participating in
both events. |
